Aung La Nsang On Vitaly Bigdash Trilogy: I Will Finish Him

ONE Championship middleweight and light heavyweight king Aung La Nsang, is looking to establish himself as the most dominant champion of his era. In order to do that, the Myanmar superstar needs to defeat the former ONE middleweight champion Vitaly Bigdash, and put an end to their great rivalry.

Speaking to ONE Championship Aung La asserted that he is the one true champion, and that he has to prove it.

“I have everything to prove. I have to prove that I am the rightful World Champion,” he said.

Aung La first fought Bigdash on short notice for the middleweight belt at ONE: Quest for Power three years ago, and lost to a decision. However, five months later, ‘The Burmese Python’ won the rematch at ONE: Light Of A Nation, and captured the ONE middleweight title.

Not only did Aung La became the first ever Myanmar world champion, he won the belt in front of thousands of his adoring fans in Yangon, the capital of his home country.

Soon after, Aung La made a transition to Sanford MMA (formerly Hard Knocks 365), in Florida, USA, and has been on a winning streak ever since. He has finished his last six opponents, including Ken Hasegawa at ONE: A New Era in March 2019, defending his middleweight belt; and the ONE heavyweight champion Brandon Vera at ONE: Century last October, defending his light heavyweight title.

Aung La feels that he’s reaching his prime, which is only giving him more confidence in ending the Bigdash rivalry once and for all.

“He gave me a hard time when I previously fought him, but I was a part-time fighter back then. Now that I’m a full-time fighter, and working with the best team in the world and training with the best guys in the world on a daily basis, I feel like this is going to show my improvements since our last fight,” Aung La explained.

“Every bout you fight is very important, but this one is going to close the door with Vitaly,” he continued. “The last fight, they can say I was lucky or whatever. I’ve got to make sure this is a decisive bout. I have to make sure Vitaly will never, ever in his wildest dreams want to fight me again.”

Although he went for full five rounds with Bigdash both times previously, ‘The Burmese Python’ promised a finish next time they meet.

“I know I can finish him, and I will finish him,”Aung La asserted.

Aung La and Bigdash were expected to face each other at ONE: Infinity 1 on May 29th, which is currently postponed due to the coronavirus restrictions as are all of ONE events in May.

Who do you think wins the trilogy match between Aung La Nsang and Vitaly Bigdash?
