ONE Championship Postpone May Events

ONE Championship fans will have to wait until at least June to get their fix of martial arts action, after it was confirmed that all of their events in May have been postponed.

Taking to social media, ONE CEO and chairman Chatri Sityodtong, announced that the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the resulting travel restrictions and lockdowns have caused the postponement of the three scheduled events next month.

“BREAKING NEWS: All May events for ONE Championship will be postponed until further notice due to the recent COVID-19 developments (border closings and lockdowns) across most countries in Asia. Our highest priority remains the safety and health of our athletes, officials, staff, fans, and the public during these challenging times. My team and I are working around the clock on multiple options to bring back our events as soon as safely possible. Stay tuned for news! #WeAreONE

The events postponed are ONE: Dream on May 1st, ONE: Inspiration on May 8th, which were both set to take place in Singapore behind closed doors, and ONE: Infinity 1 on May 29th in Manila.

The last ONE card was their ONE: King Of The Jungle event on February 28th, which took place behind closed doors inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Since then, the promotion has postponed their events in Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia. As well as their two events this month, ONE: Hope and ONE: Strength, which were also set to take place behind closed doors in Singapore.
