UFC: Israel Adesanya Responds To Yoel Romero And Jon Jones

Israel Adesanya has a plan and he has no intention of deviating from that plan. The plan is to clear out the middleweight division and then move up and dethrone Jon Jones. And if the new UFC middleweight champion gets his way, Yoel Romero will be his first title defence.

Despite the fact that Adesanya has been calling out Romero recently, the former title challenger has accused ‘The Last Stylebender’ of now ducking him. Speaking to TMZ Sports though, Israel reiterated the fact that he wants to fight Yoel next.

“I’ve called the guy out, said I want to fight him but the UFC don’t think it’s going to sell. But f*** records, I just want to fight. I want Yoel.”

Adesanya was also asked about Jones’ recent comments, that he guarantees Izzy will try to avoid him.

“He will face me eventually but I’m going to respect the game. I’m going to honour the game and defend my belt. He didn’t jump up to heavyweight after he won the belt. I want to do the work. If he wants to come down, come see me but if not, shut the f*** up and wait till I come and see you.

“I’m not going to move too fast because I’ve always had a plan and I never deviate from my plans. So I’ll stick to my guns.

‘The Last Stylebender’ and ‘Bones’ have been going back and forth in interviews and on social media, on an almost weekly basis, over the last few months.

Adesanya won the middleweight title last month at UFC 243, where he stopped Robert Whittaker in front of 57,000 fans at the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. Jones hasn’t competed since July, when he defeated Thiago Silva at UFC 239 via split decision, to defend his light heavyweight title.

The 29 year old Adesanya has said that he will fight Jones in early 2021, in the new Allegiant Stadium, currently being built in Las Vegas. UFC president Dana White has also stated that Adesanya vs Jones doesn’t make sense right now, while there are contenders in the 185lbs division.

How do you think Israel Adesanya gets on it fight with Yoel Romero and Jon Jones?
