Amanda Nunes Eying Holly Holm Fight At End Of Year

With a big UFC event coming up on May 11th in Brazil, there has been speculation that the double champion Amanda Nunes, will be on the card. However, Nunes has told Combate that she won’t be fighting at UFC 237.

According to Nunes, UFC 237 is too soon to see her back in the Octagon and won’t give her enough time to prepare. As transcribed by BJPenn.com.

“It’s going to be difficult. I’m thinking of fighting more for the end of the year, November or December. Now I’m here in Brazil, organizing some family things. I would not have time to prepare myself for May.”

Instead, the Brazilian who trains out of American Top Team, plans on defending her bantamweight title against Holly Holm at the end of the year.

“I think it makes sense that it’s a fight against Holly Holm, the only former champion I have not faced.”

After that, we may only see one more fight from ‘The Lioness’.

“Then I think it would be nice to have a rematch against Cyborg. And then I’ll stop. I do not even know how many fights I have, after the next fight we’re going to renegotiate. I think I should make two more and retire. And if I feel like fighting, I’ll come back.”

With GSP just announcing that he’s retiring at the top, it looks like Nunes may follow suit.

Is there anyone you would like to see Nunes fight, before she hangs up her gloves?
