Anderson Silva and Conor McGregor have both expressed an interest in fighting each other in recent months. But despite both fighters showing an interest in the fight, UFC President Dana White isn’t so keen. Saying at the UFC 234 post fight press conference, “I don’t like that fight at all”.

This hasn’t put Silva off of the idea though. Speaking to TMZ Sports, the former UFC middleweight king again told Dana to make the fight.

“I belive in this fight. It’s very interesting for the sport, for the fans. But that’s a good question for Dana White. Conor accept the challenge, I accept the challenge. I’m just waiting for the opportunity.”

Asked if he had a message for the UFC boss, the Brazilian had this to say.

“Come on boss, give this show for the fans, give this show for the big fans in the UFC. Two big guys, two big names. It’s good money for you Dana. And a good challenge for me and Conor.”

Obviously if the two were to meet, Silva would have a very big weight advantage.

Silva also confirmed that he plans on fighting out the rest of his UFC contract, which he said still has three or four fights left on it.

Silva fights Jared Cannonier this weekend at UFC 237, in Rio de Janeiro.

McGregor doesn’t have a fight booked currently. Despite posting a retirement tweet in March, the Irish man is set to meet Dana next week.
