Anthony Joshua Reacts To Jarrell Miller’s Failed Drug Tests

Anthony Joshua had finally broken his silence, following last week’s news that his opponent Jarrell Miller, failed three drug tests in the lead up to their fight on June 1st.

Joshua posted a video to his YouTube channel, saying that he wasn’t going to kick a man while he was down. And confirming that he will still be fighting on June 1st. Although an opponent hasn’t been found yet.

“So June 1st will still go ahead. My New York debut at MSG, Madison Square Garden. I didn’t want to talk too much on the situation with Jarrell Miller, because it’s not in my character to knock a man when he’s down. However there’s a lot of things he said previously in the press conferences and build up so I wanted to crack him in his jaw. But I know when you’re in a position, you have to lead by example, so I knew that wasn’t the right thing to do.

“The lesson to learn in this situation is karma works in various ways. What goes around will come back around, and I feel like he has taken fate and his own blesses out of his own hands. So sometimes be respectful, I know its a fight, be respectful, be appreciative and lead by example. What he done was lead by bad example.”

The response was as classy as you would expect from the heavyweight champion. Although he couldn’t help himself and sent a message to Miller’s mum at the end of the video.

“And by the way, to Miller’s mum, I still love you. If there’s anything I can do for you, just let me know.”

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn, wasn’t quite so reserved, when speaking about Miller’s failed drug tests. You can see what he had to say here:
