Anthony Pettis surprised a lot of people, when he called out Stephen Thompson. Now he plans to shock the world.

Pettis, the former UFC lightweight champion, called out Thompson earlier this year and when ‘Wonderboy’ accepted the challenge, the UFC made the fight. Other than two fights at featherweight, ‘Showtime’ has fought his whole UFC career at lightweight.

When talking about their main event at this weekend’s UFC Nashville, Pettis said he’s ready to shock the world.

“My game plan, striking, is gonna shock the world.”

Pettis is coming off a loss to Tony Ferguson at UFC 229, in one of the fights of 2018. The loss followed an impressive win over Michael Cheese at UFC 226.

Thompson is also coming off of a loss, to Darren Till at UFC Liverpool last May. Many fans thought that Thompson had done enough to win the fight against the Liverpudlian, who had missed weight for the fight.
