“The Russian Hammer” Artem Lobov is an individual that doesn’t shy away from challenges. While the featherweight has fought top contenders such as Michael Johnson and Cub Swanson, he was on a three fight skid. With a win-loss record of 13-15 (2-5 UFC), Lobov reportedly requested his release from the organization.

The news then broke that UFC agreed to release Artem from his contract. Lobov, who has now become a free agent, has already courted offers from various MMA and boxing promotions.

According to The Mac Life‘s Oscar Willis, Lobov wanted to fight in March but the UFC wanted him to wait until April.

Artem Lobov is one of the prominent fighters from SBG Ireland, along with Conor McGregor and Gunnar Nelson. Artem’s last fight came in October 2018, where he lost to Michael Johnson via unanimous decision. He had three fights left on his UFC contract.
