Ben Askren Responds To Artem Lobov And Khabib

Earlier on today, Khabib Nurmagomedov found out the extent of his punishment from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), over his part in the fracas at UFC 229. His cousin Abubakar Nurmagomedov, his teammate Zubaira Tukhugov also found out their fate. Along with Conor McGregor.

While McGregor only received a fine of $50,000, Khabib received one of $500,000. And while McGregor was suspended for six months, Khabib received nine months. Although this will be reduced to six months if he participates in a local anti-bullying campaign. Abubakar Nurmagomedov and Tukhugov received one year suspensions however. You can read more about the hearing here.

According to Khabib’s manager Ali Abdelaziz, the UFC lightweight champion isn’t happy with the NSAC punishments. Saying that he wouldn’t fight while his team mates are suspended and will never fight in Nevada again. As he told Ariel Helwani.

And it didn’t take long for Ben Askren to respond to this tweet.

Askren has been campaigning for a fight with Khabib since signing with he UFC at the end of last year. The two also had some back and forth recently. Which you can read about here.

Whereas Khabib wasn’t happy with the punishment dished out by the NSAC, McGregor on the other hand, appeared to be happy with the outcome.

Soon after the conclusion of the hearing for the UFC 229 incident, news broke out that McGregor’s team mate Artem Lobov, had been released by the UFC. You can read about that here.

This led to shots fired between Lobov and Askren.

Askren is yet to response to this message.
