Daniel Cormier and Alexander Gustafsson came close in their first attempts but no one has figured out a way to beat Jon Jones yet. Cormier’s team mate Cain Velasquez believes he has what it takes to beat the light heavyweight champion though. As the former UFC heavyweight champion told TMZ Sports.

Any fight between the two would have to go down at heavyweight. Jones has hinted several times in the past that a move up to heavyweight is something that interests him.

Velasquez returns to the cage this weekend, against Francis Ngannou at UFC Phoenix. It will be his first time inside the Octagon since he beat Travis Browne at UFC 200.
