Chris Weidman Would Love Jack Hermansson Fight

If you didn’t know who Jack Hermansson was before UFC Fort Lauderdale, I bet you do now. Last weekend, ‘The Joker’ put in an impressive performance to beat one of the best middleweights in the world, in ‘Jacare’ Souza.

The win was his fourth in a row and took his record to 20-4 and 7-2 in the UFC. With five of those wins inside the Octagon, coming by way of a finish.

Following the win, Hermansson called for a fight with Kelvin Gastelum, Yoel Romero or Chris Weidman. Although Gastelum and Romero have yet to respond, it didn’t take Weidman long to accept the challenge.

Since defending the UFC middleweight belt he once held, against Vitor Belfort at UFC 187 four years ago, Weidman has had a tough time inside and outside the Octagon. Losing four of his last five fights, albeit to four of the best in the world, Luke Rockhold, Yoel Romero, Gegard Mousasi and ‘Jacare’; and having to deal with several serious injuries.

Although Hermansson has jumped ahead of Weidman in the latest UFC rankings (you can see the latest UFC rankings here), the fight makes a lot of sense for both fighters.

Do you like this match up? And who do you think would walk away with the ‘W’?
