Colby Covington Hits Out At Nick Diaz

Colby Covington has continued his war of words with the Diaz brothers, stating that older brother Nick was showing the signs of Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).

Three weeks ago, speaking to TMZ Sports, Nick sent Covington the message, ‘You know where to find me’. Speaking on the latest episode of BJPENN.com Radio, Covington hit back at Nick, saying he’s an embarrassment.

“Yeah, I saw that video, man. It was really sad. I think Nick Diaz is really starting to see the effects of CTE, he’s a mumbling, stumbling little dummy. The guy’s hooked on weed. He needs to get hooked on phonics. That guy’s embarrassing man. He’s taking way too many shots to the head to be talking like that to the welterweight king Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington. So there’s not really much to say. I hope he enjoys retirement. We all know he’s scared to fight because he was offered a fight contract last year, MSG and he turned it down like the little bitch, a little Stockton soy boy he is. Nick Diaz has the Stockton slap, but that ain’t got shit on me and what I got: MAGA bombs.”

Nick hasn’t fought since facing Anderson Silva at UFC 183, in January of 2015. The 36 year old lost on the night via unanimous decision but the result was later overturned to a no contest, after the Brazilian tested positive for drostanolone and androsterone. While Diaz also tested positive for marijuana after the fight.

Earlier this year, Nick stated that he didn’t want to fight again, adding that he just wanted to party. Although his close friend and teammate Gilbert Melendez, said in June that Nick was back in training.

Covington is fresh off a dominant unanimous decision win over Robbie Lawler, last month at UFC Newark. The UFC were working on a title fight between Covington and Kamaru Usman, to headline UFC 244 at Madison Square Garden, but negotiations broke down. Nick’s younger brother Nate, will now headline the New York card on November 2nd, against Jorge Masvidal.

It will be the first time a non-title fight has headlined a UFC pay-per-view event in three years. Although the one-off Baddest Mother F***er title will be on the line.

While it remains doubtful that Nick Diaz will return to the Octagon, if he does, would you like to see him face Colby Covington?
