Colby Covington Says He Will KO Kamaru Usman At UFC 245

Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman will finally face each other at UFC 245 for the undisputed UFC Welterweight Championship. The bad blood between the two has been simmering for a while. Colby defeated Robbie Lawler in what turned out to be a lop-sided fight, while Usman dominated Woodley to win the title in his last outing.

In fact, Colby has accused the UFC of trying to low-ball him. In an interview with theScore, Covington revealed that he got a new management to deal with the promotion.

“I brought in Ballengee, I needed someone that’s going to play a little hardball with the UFC”, Covington said. “I don’t want to ruin (my manager) Dan Lambert’s relationship with the UFC because I know what my business is going to be about. I’m not just going to take that pity f—– basic challenger-type offer.

“They’ve already got me some huge sponsors, I’ve already put in multi six-figure sponsors in (my) paycheque. They’re going to get me the most when it comes to the negotiation table after I destroy Marty ‘fake newsman.’”

Colby Covington (15-1 MMA) previously revealed that he was in talks with UFC to fight Kamaru Usman (15-1 MMA) at UFC 244. However, he said UFC gave him a take-it-or-leave-it offer, which was unacceptable for him.

With Colby finally set to face “The Nigerian Nightmare” at UFC 245, the number one contender predicts a KO finish.

“I see a third-round knockout finish. He’s not going to last in the late rounds and he’s going to find out really quick that he’s not as good as he thinks he is. He’s all hype and he’s tried to hype himself up and believe something that he is not. He’s never finished anyone. He has pillow hands. He sucks at fighting, he’s had an easy road to get there.

“He came in and beat all my sloppy seconds and now he thinks he’s God. Now he’s running into God, and he’s going to find out on December 14th, he will be finished inside three rounds. Mark my words you heard it here first on James Lynch, take it to the bank.”

Covington expects to give Usman such a beating in the Octagon and in the lead up, that he’s going to need professional help afterwards.

“He’s going to need a psychologist soon James. He’s going to need therapy. He’s going to need all the money in the world he can get, for this basic challenger offer, because after I end his career on December 14th, he’s going to need help. He’s probably going to want to commit suicide. I hope he can get through it. And mentally he’s not going to be there with me. I’m going to burn him with facts. I’ve got some stuff loaded up, you’re not going to miss these press conferences. These are going to be pure gold James, mark my words.”
