Colby Covington: Tyron Woodley Will Be Left Unconscious

UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington is expected to finally fight the former champion Tyron Woodley on September 19th at the APEX Center in Las Vegas, after years of trading blows and mutual callouts.

Both contenders have been accusing each other for ducking the fight, and claiming they used to get the better of each other in their previous sparring sessions, when they both trained at American Top Team. Now we finally get to see them settle their differences inside the Octagon.

“This Fight Ain’t Going To The Judge’s Scorecards”

Speaking to MMA Fighting (transcript by BJPenn.com), Covington revealed that he won’t allow his welterweight clash with Woodley go to the judges.

“We are going to see the best Tyron Woodley we have ever seen in this fight,” Covington said. “Speaking of his last two fights, those guys, yeah they beat him on the judge’s scorecard. This fight ain’t going to the judge’s scorecards.

“I’m leaving no doubt that I am the best welterweight in the world. I’m going to add another world champion to my resume. My long list of amazing resume I already have. I’m going to finish him. It is not going to the judge’s decision I promise you that. He will get left unconscious inside that Octagon.”

Covington said he will be disappointed if Woodley doesn’t leave the Octagon on a stretcher.

“If Tyron Woodley does not leave the Octagon on September 19th live on ESPN on a stretcher, then I didn’t do my job.”

Both Covington and Woodley are coming off losses. ‘Chaos’ was stopped by Kamaru Usman at UFC 245 last December, in an attempt to capture the UFC welterweight title. While ‘The Chosen One’ has suffered back-to-back decision losses, losing the title to ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’, and then to Gilbert Burns at UFC Vegas.

How do you think Colby Covington vs Tyron Woodley goes down?
