Conor McGregor has confirmed that he is currently in negotiations with the UFC for his next fight. Speaking to ABC7 Chicago, McGregor said he was hoping to return in July.

UFC 239 goes down on July 6th, at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, as part of the UFC International Fight Week.

There has been speculation that McGregor would fight ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone this summer but this was ruled out recently, apparently due to the fact that the Irish man refused to fight in a co-main event.

McGregor is currently suspended until next month for his part in the UFC 229 brawl, following his loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The former UFC double champion was arrested last week for taking a fan’s phone and smashing it. He is due back in court on April 10th for an arraignment on the charges.
