Conor McGregor Will Fight Again, Confirms Dana White

Conor McGregor has been going through quite a phase. From announcing his retirement, to his ugly spat with Khabib Nurmagomedov, to his recent ruling — and yet another revelation of possible scuffle involving the Irishman — Conor has been a busy man.

While his problems with the law and his business has been keeping Conor McGregor busy outside the cage, the question on everybody’s mind, once again, is if Conor will ever fight in the UFC again. According to UFC President Dana White however, McGregor will indeed return to the Octagon.

“Conor McGregor will fight again”, White told CNN. “Me and Conor communicate every day. We’ve been talking all this week. Things are good with Conor and I and we’ll get something figured out soon.”

“Conor likes to be in a position where he holds the cards and he does what he wants to do. And, you know, he and I figure out how to work together and how to make it all happen.”

Conor and Dana/UFC have been at odds recently. The former UFC lightweight champion refused to fight in July in the co-main event, leading to UFC scrapping a potential fight between McGregor and Cerrone. Conor then teased his retirement, before calling out virtually everybody that is a big name in the UFC.

Dana has seen his share of fighters trying to use every possible tactic to get what they want. And according to the UFC President, we haven’t seen the last of McGregor inside the Octagon.

White then talked about Conor McGregor still being a big draw, and mentioned that he would book a fight between Conor and Floyd Mayweather or Khabib in a heartbeat.

“He lost to the greatest boxer, arguably of all time, in a boxing match”, he explained. “Conor, was [in] his first boxing match and he did really really well. [He] earned a lot of respect from people from that fight.”

“Then, the next fight that he lost was [against] Khabib, who is the champion, undefeated and the best guy in the world right now. So, it’s not like he lost to some guys that were eight-nine-ten. He lost to two of the best in the world in their sports. So, yes, Conor McGregor is still very much relevant and very much in the game.”

“I’ll do that fight this Saturday if they want to do that one”, Dana quipped regarding a possible rematch between Conor and Floyd, this time in the cage. “Yeah, if Floyd wants to fight in the octagon, we’ll do it 100 percent.”

“I think that that fight is a possibility some day in the octagon. Listen, after making the first fight, I never say never anymore.”

“And, obviously I think everybody would like to see the fight with him and Khabib again.”
