After Stipe Miocic’s most recent plea for a rematch with Daniel Cormier yesterday (you can read about that here), Daniel Cormier was quick to shoot down any chance of an immediate rematch.

The current UFC heavyweight champion, took to Twitter to explain why there isn’t going to be a rematch.

The tweets will be a blow to Miocic, who said a rematch with Cormier was more important to him than reclaiming the title. Cormier beat Miocic at UFC 226 last July, to win the belt.

DC had previously said that he only wanted to fight one more time, against Brock Lesnar. Although he did also state that if he couldn’t fight Lesnar, he would fight Miocic. And has since hinted that we could see him fight two or three more times before he retires.

To make his point of wanting to fight Lesnar next, Cormier also sent a message to the WWE star.
