Cris Cyborg’s Manager Provides Update On New UFC Deal

Cris Cyborg’s current UFC deal is set to expire soon, and the former champion previously talked about how losing the title wouldn’t affect the negotiations. Cris lost the UFC Featherweight title to Amanda Nunes, which brought an end to her undefeated streak for over a decade. While Cris Cyborg has since been asking for a rematch, neither Amanda nor Dana White are particularly interested in running it back anytime soon.

There have also been talks about the new professional wrestling promotion, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) being interested in signing Cris Cyborg. However, Audie Attar told ESPN’s Ariel Helwani that Cyborg is interested in signing a new deal with the UFC. Furthermore, Attar also revealed that they are in talks for Cris to fight Nunes at UFC 237 in Brazil.

“The hopes are we can get a new deal done with the UFC, but time will tell on whether that is achievable or not,” Attar said (transcript via ESPN). “We haven’t received any official fight offer but she would love to fight in her hometown. We’ve had some soft discussions about her next fight and her future. She’d love to fight for the UFC.

“Cris Cyborg is one of the biggest draws in MMA. And that is fact. Even in that last fight, she went in there and didn’t fight her fight and got caught, but it was still exciting to watch.”
