Dana White Comments On Conor McGregor’s Retirement Tweet

Dana White has no time for Conor’s shenanigans.

As we had reported earlier, Conor McGregor tweeted an hour ago saying he is retiring from the sport of mixed martial arts. McGregor’s tweet has received mixed responses from the MMA community. Conor had previously teased retirement from UFC, only to come out and say that he was just joking around.

This time around however, things could be serious. McGregor was expected to face Donald Cerrone in the near future, but with UFC wanting Conor to fight in the co-main event, the Irishman refused to fight on the card. Conor McGregor now has no opponents, and while he has been calling out the likes of Tony Ferguson and Nate Diaz, nothing concrete is in the works.

Amidst all of this drama, ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reached out to the UFC President Dana White to get his thoughts on the entire situation.

“He has the money to retire, and his whiskey is killing it”, Dana White responded. “It totally makes sense. If I was him, I would retire too.

“He’s retiring from fighting, not from working”, Dana added. “The whiskey will keep him busy, and I’m sure he has other things he’s working on.

“He has been so fun to watch! He has accomplished incredible things in this sport. I am so happy for him and I look forward to seeing him be as successful outside of the Octagon as he was in it.”

As things stand, we might have seen the last of Conor McGregor inside the UFC cage!
