Dana White has confirmed who will fight Israel Adesanya next.

After winning his fight at UFC 243, Israel Adesanya immediately turned to Paulo Costa, and taunted him with a crotch chop. “The Last Stylebender” defeated Robert Whittaker to become the undisputed middleweight champion. While “Izzy” takes in his moment, UFC has already announced his first challenger.

Adesanya put a dominant performance, ending Whittaker’s streak at 185 lbs. While Israel has been talking up a fight with Jon Jones, it won’t happen anytime soon. And Dana White has confirmed that Paulo Costa will fight Adesanya next.

White was asked about it by TMZ, and the UFC president had no hesitation, saying it would be “Borrachinha”.

“Listen, the Jones fight is a fun fight, but the next fight is Paulo Costa. That’s the fight to make next”, Dana White said. “And if a Jon Jones fight is possible down the line, I like it. I’m not going to lie.”

Adesanya is currently undefeated in the UFC, while Paulo Costa last defeated Yoel Romero to put himself ahead of the pack. Whittaker on the other hand knows that he has to fight once or twice to book his date with the champion again.
