GGG Expected To Sign With DAZN

It doesn’t look like Gennady Golovkin (GGG) will be a free agent for much longer.

The former middleweight champion had received offers from Premier Boxing Champions (FOX/Showtime) and ESPN but it is expected that he will sign with DAZN.

Mike Coppinger reported that DAZN have offered GGG around $45 million for two fights. DAZN is the new home of Canelo Alvarez, who signed an eleven fight, $365 million contract at the end of last year.

If the deal goes through, it is expected that GGG will challenge Demetrius Andrade for the middleweight title, in a few months time.

Canelo is set to defend his middleweight titles against Daniel Jacobs on May 4th. Should both GGG and Canelo win, this would set up a third meeting between the two, later in the year.

Canelo won both their previous encounters. Albeit in controversial circumstances, with many boxing pundits and fans thinking that GGG won both.

As well as Canelo, DAZN already have heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, undisputed cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and WBC super-flyweight king Srisaket Sor Rungvisai on their books.
