Gregor Gillespie Wants Anthony Pettis At UFC 244

Gregor Gillespie, who until now has refused to call out any fighter in the lightweight division, now wants Anthony Pettis at UFC 244. Gillespie is currently undefeated (13-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC), and after sitting on the sidelines since January, he has now called out the former UFC Lightweight Champion for a showdown inside MSG.

“The Gift” took to Instagram to send a respectful challenge to Pettis (22-9 MMA, 9-8 UFC), after Pettis recently lost to Nate Diaz at UFC 241.

“So for the last 6 fights everyone has been pressuring and annoying me to call someone out”, Gillespie wrote. “I never wanted to but it looks like I am going to have to play the game…I want my first “call out” to count so. Anthony Pettis, I think you are a great fighter, but you are in the wrong weight class, come back down to 155 and meet me at MSG on November 2.”

Gillespie previously fought Yancy Medeiros back in January, defeating him by TKO in the second round. With Pettis losing 7 of his previous 11 fights, he needs to find the winning formula, and get back to hunting for the title. Although, Pettis might be eyeing a certain Irishman for his next fight.
