Henry Cejudo Names His Combat Sports Mount Rushmore

Former UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo, has revealed which fighters he would have on his MMA and Combat Sports Mount Rushmore.

Arguably one of the greatest fighters of all time, Cejudo has excluded himself from his personal MMA Mount Rushmore. He did however, name himself in his combat sports Mount Rushmore.

In an interview with Helen Lee (as transcribed by MMA Junkie), Cejudo revealed his MMA GOAT list.

“Khabib is not part of the GOAT mountain. I’m not even part of the GOAT mountain to be quite honest with you” Cejudo revealed. “But even when it comes to combat sports, he’s a part of that mountain. But in my take, it’s Demetrious Johnson, Jon Jones, Anderson Silva, GSP (Georges St-Pierre).”

While Cejudo didn’t include himself in his MMA GOAT list, he puts himself at the top of the mountain, when it comes to combat sports. ‘Triple C’, as he has referred to himself since winning his second UFC belt, also won an Olympic gold medal in wrestling in 2008.

“I’m not part of the GOAT mountain when it comes to the sport of mixed martial arts, but I will say this, in the GOAT mountain of combat sports, I remain number one,” Cejudo said. “Then I would put Khabib with me, I would put Daniel Cormier with me, and I would put Fabricio Werdum because these are the people that have done something in combat sports and that’s it.”

After losing to Johnson at UFC 197 in his first shot at UFC gold, Cejudo beat ‘Mighty Mouse’ in their rematch at UFC 227 via split decision, to win the flyweight title. He then went on to beat Marlon Moraes at UFC 238 to win the vacant bantamweight title, after TJ Dillashaw was stripped of the title for failing a USADA drug test.

Cejudo made one successful defence of his bantamweight title, against former champion Dominick Cruz at UFC 249 earlier this year, before announcing his retirement from the sport.
