Holly Holm Featured In New Mountain Dew Commercial

Holly Holm, the former UFC bantamweight champion has been featured in the new Mountain Dew ‘Let’s Do’ commercial.

Holm is one of the top mixed martial artists on the planet, and shocked the world in 2015 when she defeated the then seemingly invincible Ronda Rousey. Holly however dropped the title to Miesha Tate in what was one of the most intriguing fights of women’s MMA.

Holly also contested for the UFC women’s flyweight title, losing to Germaine de Randamie by decision. Holm spoke about being included in the commercial, along with hip-hop trio Migos, 86-year-old artist Ushio Shinohara, NBA player Joel Embiid and professional skateboarders Sean Malto and Mariah Duran.

Speaking with MMAJunkie about the ad, Holm said, “To do a commercial about ‘doing it’ is really important to me because it’s crucial to our sport. Our sport is one of the most selfish sports because it takes so many people to get you ready to perform. I have a lot of teammates and coaches, but when it comes down to it, when you get in there and close the door, that’s the end of it. That’s the end of the help. You have to make it happen; you have to perform then and make it happen.”

“Through my career, I’ve wanted to take some of these opportunities that pop up out of the cage,” Holm said. “There’s stuff that comes up like, ‘OK, that’s cool.’ There’s other stuff that, ‘Wow, that’s awesome. We have to do this.’ This is one of those that I was able to do and be really excited for it.”

Holm next faces undefeated prospect Aspen Ladd at UFC 235 on March 2nd.
