Just when we thought that Yoel Romero vs Paulo Costa was finally going to happen, the UFC have just thrown a curve ball and announced Yoel Romero vs ‘Jacare’ Souza 2 will go down next month in Florida.
With the news the Romero had been eliminated from his reality TV show, where he was tested on different obstacle courses, it was expected that a fight would be made with Costa, after two previous attempts to make the fight had fallen through.
Instead we can look forward to a rematch between top UFC middleweight contenders, Romero and Souza, in the main event. The two met previously in December of 2015, where Romero won a very close split decision.
Romero was last in action last summer, where he lost a split decision to the UFC middleweight champion, Robert Whittaker. Souza is coming off of an impressive third round KO win over former champion, Chris Weidman.
UFC Florida goes down on April 27th.
