People will be talking about the UFC 236 co-main event between Israel Adesanya and Kelvin Gastelum for a long, long time. After 25 minutes of incredible action, Adesanya got his hand raised to win the UFC interim middleweight title.

After the five round war, Gastelum was taken immediately to hospital as a precaution. While in the post fight press conference, Adesanya said of Gastelum, “he’s one tough man”.

Since the fight, the 27 year old Gastelum has taken to Twitter to thank his fans and then again around an hour later, to congratulate Adesanya.

It was a show of respect that was appreciated and reciprocated by the Nigerian Kiwi in the last hour.

To see the great respect and admiration for each other after their epic clash, only makes their fight even more special.

Adesanya will now face Robert Whittaker to unify the belts. It is believed that it will go down in a stadium in Australia, around September.
