Jarrell Miller Fails Drug Test Ahead Of Anthony Joshua Fight

Heavyweight boxer Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller, has tested positive for the banned substance GW1516.

Miller is due to fight Anthony Joshua at Madison Square Garden in New York, on June 1st, in what is set to be Joshua’s debut on American soil.

Joshua holds the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles.

ESPN have reported that three sources have informed them on Tuesday night that Miller failed a Voluntary Anti Doping Association (VADA) test on March 20th.

Since reporting this story, Anthony Joshua and Jarrell Miller’s promoter’s Eddie Hearn and Dmitry Salita have taken to Twitter to comment on the news.

Update:

The LA Times has since reported that the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) has declined heavyweight Miller’s application for his license to fight Anthony Joshua.

Joshua’s promoter Hearn, now has the task of finding his man a new opponent for June 1st. Hearn has told media there were initially two options for Anthony Joshua’s June 1st opponent. Miller and Luis Ortiz. Ortiz still doesn’t have a fight booked, so is a likely replacement.
