Jessica Andrade has been robbed at gun point in her home town of Niteroi, in Brazil on Thursday morning.

The new UFC strawweight champion was driving her Honda HRV in Icarai with her wife Fernanda Gomes, when the criminals stopped her and robbed the car and their smartphones, wallets and identification.

Andrade’s coach Gilliard Parana told MMA Fighting that they are both fine despite the scare and that the car was insured.

The 27 year old Andrade won the UFC strawweight title when she beat Rose Namajunas at UFC 237, earlier this month. UFC 237 went down at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, which is only around 25 miles away from Niteroi.

The robbery comes just a couple of days after the new 115lbs champion posted a photo to Instagram wearing nothing but her new shiny belt.
