UFC – Joanna Jedrzejczyk: I Want To Be The Female BMF

Jorge Masvidal went into 2019 having lost his two previous fights and having not fought in over a year. ‘Gamebred’ will go into 2020 as not only one of the biggest stars in the UFC but also as the ‘Baddest Mother F***er’ in the game. Now his American Top Team teammate Joanna Jedrzejczyk, wants to emulate his achievement and claim her stake as the female BMF.

Speaking to The South Morning China Post‘s Tom Taylor, the former UFC women’s strawweight champion expressed her intentions to be the female BMF.

“People used to call me violent, savage, Jorge [Masvidal] just won the belt – the baddest mother f***er belt. I want to be the female BMF,” Jedrzejczyk said.

Aside from herself, Joanna cited another name who she thinks deserves to hold that coveted title – Ronda Rousey.

“These [other] girls can make it, they can win the belt, but there’s nobody like Ronda Rousey, [nobody] like me,” she professed.

Jedrzejczyk backed up her claim based on the most number of times she and Ronda defended their titles in the promotion. Joanna retained her crown five times while Rousey holds the record in the women’s division with six.

“People can doubt me, and they’ll do that forever, but show me a better, cleaner fighter in the UFC or in general. Of course, Amanda Nunes is the GOAT [greatest of all time] right now, but Ronda Rousey had six successful title defences, me, five. Rose [Namajunas]? One title defence. Jessica [Andrade] couldn’t defend the title.”

Jedrzejczyk is coming off a win over Michelle Waterson last month int the UFC Tampa main event. The win almost certainly earned the Polish fighter a chance to win back her title from China’s Zhang Weili. Ahead of their expected title fight in early 2020, the two have been going back and forth in recent interviews.
