Joe Rogan Provides Update On Retirement From UFC

Joe Rogan and the UFC go way back, and we’re talking the early days of the promotion.

Rogan has been with the leading MMA organization in the world since 1997, and as the years progressed, both the promotion and the individual have earned plaudits. Rogan is now the voice of the UFC, and one cannot even fathom a UFC without Joe.

On his critically acclaimed podcast, Joe Rogan recently opened up about his work, and for how long he sees himself lending his voice to the sport.

“I do enjoy it,” Rogan told Brendan Schaub recently on his podcast (transcript via Forbes). “I cut way back. Cause first of all, I was doing too many of them. At one point I was doing 24 a year, it was way too many. It was like half of the weekends of the year, I was flying somewhere to go to the UFC. It was too much.”

“That was before the UFC really started adding a bunch of people and it took a lot of the weight off of me.”

“I don’t think about retiring because I like what I do. So I don’t think about ‘oh I need ‘X’ amount of money in the bank so I’m not going to do this very much longer’. I like all that stuff.”

Rogan further added that he still enjoys doing what he does. However, the announcer could do without one or two aspects of his job.

“I don’t like doing the weigh-ins,” Rogan added. “It’s stressful.”
