Joe Rogan Talks Animosity Between Conor McGregor And Khabib Nurmagomedov

Joe Rogan is one of the few analysts in the sport of mixed martial arts, who commands respect and attention. The UFC commentator is also the host of the most popular podcast on the planet, and discusses everything under the sun with a wide range of guests. While Rogan’s claim to fame (at least for MMA fans) has been his role as the voice of UFC, he has donned many hats, and more recently on the Joe Rogan Experience, he talked about the animosity between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Rogan’s guest for the episode, Lex Fridman chimed in, and said that Khabib Nurmagomedov was equally at fault during the lead up. Fridman opined that the current UFC Lightweight Champion did as much damage as Conor, while Rogan gave his thoughts on why McGregor will always have problems while facing Khabib.

“He’s always going to have a problem with Khabib”, Rogan said. “Khabib’s wrestling is so high level, it’s so different, he smothers you in a way that you think you have good take down defence until you run into that motherf*****.”

Both the personalities discussed about the possibility of Conor McGregor not wanting “it” as much anymore, given his success outside the Octagon. Meanwhile, Khabib is expected to defend the UFC Lightweight Championship against Dustin Poirier at UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi.

The lightweight division is currently a shark tank, with Tony Ferguson now returning to competition. In fact, Tony is expected to face Donald Cerrone at UFC 238. The winner will likely stake claim to the title shot, and face the winner of Dustin Poirier vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 242.
