John Kavanagh: If Drake Comes To My Gym, He’s Getting Roundhoused

The Drake curse struck again this past weekend. Drake is obviously a big sports fan and he attends a lot of sporting events. More often than not, the rapper attends these events supporting one competitor or team. Unfortunately for whoever, or whichever team, Drake is supporting, a pattern has emerged. They usually lose.

Points in case, include Serena Williams. In 2015, Williams lost to Roberta Vinci in the semifinals of the US Open in a huge upset, when Drake was in her player’s box.

Conor McGregor was joined by Drake wearing an Irish flag, at the weigh-ins, ahead his fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229. I think we all know the outcome of that fight.

Top of the league Paris Saint-Germain’s Layvin Kurzawa, recently posted a photo of himself with Drake to Instagram. Two days later, PSG lost 5-1 to Lille.

The Italian football team Roma, have even posted a tweet this season banning their players from taking any pictures with Drake.

Despite all this, Anthony Joshua went into his heavyweight boxing title defence against Andy Ruiz Jr. this weekend, confident that he would break the curse.

As we all know now, Ruiz went on to cause one of the biggest upsets in boxing history. Defeating the previously unbeaten Joshua and capturing the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles.

One man who has seen all he needs to see of the curse, is Conor McGregor’s coach, John Kavanagh. Taking to Twitter, the SBG Ireland Head Coach joked that if Drake comes to his gym, he’ll be getting a swift roundhouse to the head.

When one fan commented that he should have kept Drake away from Conor ahead of the Khabib fight, Kavanagh had the perfect response.

Do you buy into the ‘Drake curse’?
