Jones: It’s Hilarious That Adesanya Is Still Trying Build A Rivalry With Me

Jon Jones has laughed off Israel Adesanya’s suggestion that the rivalry between them is now “deeper than fighting”.

In the aftermath of the UFC 259 main event, where Adesanya came up short challenging Jan Blachowicz for the light heavyweight title, Jones took to social media to poke fun at him. ‘The Last Stylebender ’responded by telling ‘Bones’ to enjoy his ‘victory lap’ because his time will come.

Jones Responds

In a series of tweets, the former UFC light heavyweight champion continued to bash Adesanya.

“Ariel Helwani asked him one question about me, Izzy went on to give a seven-minute response,” Jones wrote. “I love it when opponents realise they can’t hold my jockstrap and default to the ‘Jon Jones is fake’ defense.”

The Albuquerque native also thinks that the beef between the two doesn’t make any sense, as he’s leagues above the Nigerian born New Zealander.

“The fact that he is actually trying to keep this beef going is hilarious,” Jones continued.

Jones also mocked arrogant Adesanya for considering himself the ‘best MMA fighter ever’ when he’s not a complete fighter.

“This dude backed himself into a corner with his mouth and is actually trying to keep the wolf tickets selling,” Jones said. “Only a real anime fan could actually see Izzy somehow defeating me at 245 pounds. Dudes claiming to be the best MMA fighter ever, with 1/3 of an MMA game. Arrogance at its finest, I swear it will make you blind.”

For now, Adesanya is focusing on the middleweight division and has promised Darren Till a shot at his title next, should he beat Marvin Vettori at UFC Vegas 23. As for Jones, he is expected to face the winner of the heavyweight title fight between Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou, scheduled to headline UFC 260 on March 27th.

Would Israel Adesanya stand a chance against Jon Jones in a potential fight down the road?
