Usman And Woodley Go At It On Twitter After Usman Said He’s Fighting For The Title (UPDATED)
Kamaru Usman has just tweeted stating that he will be fighting for the welterweight title in March. We’re assuming that this will be at UFC 235 on March 2nd and will be against the current champion Tyron Woodley. Although there has been confirmation from the UFC yet.
It didn’t take long for Tyron Woodley to respond. Within 30 minutes, Woodley tweeted this response:
Which led to more back and forth between the two.
For several months it has been unknown what is happening at the top of the 170lbs division, with both Usman and Colby Covington claiming to be next in line. Shots between all three have been ongoing in this time with Woodley recently stating that he knows he’ll be fighting Usman at some point but wanted to fight Covington first.
However, since Usman’s last outing, where he looked very impressive in beating Rafael do Anjos at The TUF 28 Finale, Dana hasn’t insisted that Usman gets the next shot. Recently even saying that Usman would be fighting for the belt at UFC 232, whether that was against Woodley or not.
