Khabib And Tony Ferguson Respond To Conor McGregor Tweet

In the last few hours, Conor McGregor has again aimed a tweet at Khabib Nurmagomedov. This time replying to a fan, who suggested that Khabib is arguably the best grappler to ever fight in the UFC. Saying that he disagreed with the statement.

And it didn’t take long for Khabib to respond to the tweet, reminding the Irish man that he hasn’t won since 2016 and insisting that McGregor needs to get some wins inside the Octagon, before he’d entertain a rematch.

Tony Ferguson also responded to the tweet, saying he didn’t believe that McGregor was tweeting from this account anymore. This was echoed by several fans on the social media site.

Ali Abdelaziz has been accused of tweeting on behalf of his fighters, including Khabib, on several occasions in the past. Although I myself see no reason to suspect someone is tweeting on behalf of McGregor. McGregor responded to one fan accusing him of not posting his own tweets.

Responding himself to a fan, Ferguson said that he has expressed interest in fighting McGregor to his management team, Paradigm Sports Management, the same management team that managers McGregor.

Ferguson also stated that he wanted to Max Holloway for the UFC interim lightweight title (and the “Battle Of The War Wing”!). UFC President Dana White, has stated before that Ferguson was offered the fight but didn’t take it.

Dana White meanwhile, has reiterated that Khabib will face the winner of the UFC 236 main event between Holloway and Dustin Poirier. The winner off which will be crowned the UFC interim lightweight champion. There is speculation that the unification bout will go down in Abu Dhabi in September.

Dana confirmed this week that he will be meeting McGregor later this month to discuss his future, stating he was confident that we will see him return to the Octagon by the end of the year.

What do you think McGregor has to do to earn a rematch?
