Khabib Wants Rematch With Conor McGregor In Moscow – Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov

UFC 229 was bound to be a massive success, thanks to the animosity between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, no one would’ve predicted the melee that ensued after the fight. Khabib out-classed Conor in the fight, and finished him with a neck crank. Afterwards, “Eagle” jumped the cage and leaped into the fans’ section. Khabib was going after Conor’s teammate Dillon Danis, and after the ruckus, both Conor and Khabib were suspended for six and nine months respectively.

Nurmagomedov returned to action at UFC 242, defeating Dustin Poirier in yet another lop-sided affair. While there is a large section that now says only Tony Ferguson can beat Khabib, there are also millions of McGregor fans who want to see Conor try and avenge his loss to Khabib.

More recently, Khabib’s father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov appeared on YouTube channel Zhivina100, and said that his son wants to face Conor in Moscow, as soon as 2020.

“If McGregor wants it, then Moscow is waiting for him”, he said (transcript via

“He said once that he has more fans here than Khabib. We want to host him in Moscow, he is welcome – we are waiting.”

Dana White had earlier predicted that the Irishman could be back inside the Octagon as soon as UFC 245 in December, but that is unlikely to happen at this point.

However, Mr. Abdulmanap also realizes that Tony Ferguson deserves to fight Khabib first, and said that “El Cucuy” is next in line for his son. He also mentioned that they want the fight to happen inside MSG, but not before March 2020.

“But before McGregor we should finish our business with Ferguson,” he admitted.

“Because he had 28 fights, and runs a 12-fight winning streak in the UFC, just like Khabib. Such winning streaks and such big fights have never happened in the UFC.

“So I think Madison Square Garden is a good place for this fight, but we won’t fight earlier than March.”
