McGregor Responds To Khabib’s Response, Dana Issues Statement

The war of words between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov continues. After McGregor hit out at Paulie Malignaggi for slapping his friend and training partner Artem Lobov, he then went after Khabib, calling his wife a towel.

Although he quickly deleted a some of his tweets, we were able to take screenshots of the tweets before he did so. You can see those tweets here, along with McGregor’s tweet insinuating that Khabib is on PEDs. Khabib responded by accusing McGregor of being a rapist, which you can see here.

Just moments ago, the Irishman has responded to Khabib’s latest tweet to him.

Responding to all the backlash for his ‘towel’ tweet, straight after this tweet, McGregor then tweeted a message to his fans of all faiths. Adding ‘Now see you in the Octagon’.

The latest tweets by McGregor comes shortly after UFC President Dana White issued a statement saying that ‘the ongoing situation has escalated to a level that is unacceptable’.

“I am aware of the recent social media exchange between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor. The ongoing situation has escalated to a level that is unacceptable. As such, we are taking the necessary steps to reach out to both athlete camps and this situation is being addressed by all parties internally.”

Although McGregor’s last tweet implied that he will do his talking inside the UFC Octagon going forward, rather than on his social media platforms, it remains to be seen whether the fans will forgive his latest outburst. And it is almost certain that Khabib won’t be forgetting them anytime soon.
