Media Outlet Features Amanda Nunes In Transgender Video, Nunes Hits Back

Amanda Nunes is considered by many to be one of — if not the most dominant woman’s MMA fighter in history. Not only did she beat Ronda Rousey, but she also stopped Cris Cyborg in the first round. Nunes is a two-division champion in the UFC, and also became the first ever openly gay UFC champion.

All those accolades only cement her status as one of the most popular fighters in the sport. Amanda is also quite active on social media, and often jokes around by putting up videos of her and Nina Ansaroff. However, a media outlet included Amanda Nunes in their video titled ‘Transgender athletes are destroying women’s sports’, showing a clip from her dominant win over Ronda Rousey at UFC 207, back in December 2016.

Not getting into the topic, it was bewildering to see Amanda Nunes being included in the video, and when it was brought to Amanda’s attention, “Lioness” gave a lighthearted response. The fans however weren’t as forgiving.

“What the F**k?”, Amanda Nunes responded. “If I was born with a pe**s I wouldn’t be going through all this trouble to get Nina Ansaroff a baby.” The video has since been taken down. However, a number of Twitter users have saved the video, and have expressed their displeasure on social media.

Amanda previously defeated Holly Holm at UFC 239, and is expected to defend her bantamweight title next. But she also has other suitors in case she wants to fight someone outside of the UFC.

Update:

Since publishing this story, RT have released this apology to Amanda Nunes, along with a video of her accomplishments:

“To Amanda Nunes Leoa

Our video production team mistakenly used your photo in a video which had nothing to do with you. We sincerely apologize. RT greatly respects your achievements and legacy in the world of MMA
