Michelle Waterson On Fighting For Title, Predicts Winner Of Namajunas vs Andrade

Michelle Waterson picked up what could be a career-defining win this past weekend against former title challenger Karolina Kowalkiewicz. Waterson, who is a former Invicta FC Champion, can now realistically hope to fight for the strawweight title with another big win or two.

Michelle Waterson is now on a three-fight win streak, amassing a 5-2 win-loss record in the UFC. While Michelle lost to the current champion Rose Namajunas two years ago, she is already eyeing a rematch with ‘Thug Rose’.

Speaking with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, Waterson said, “I feel like at this point, what other reason would I be fighting for, if it isn’t for the belt?

“I want to be the first champion that’s a mom.”

Waterson also revealed that she had exchanged her jersey with Karolina after their fight, similar to how players exchange their shirts in football.

When asked who she thought would win at UFC 237, Waterson picked Rose Namajunas to beat Jessica Andrade for the title.
