Mike Perry Replaces Li Jingliang At UFC Fort Lauderdale

‘Platinum’ Mike Perry will be in action for the first time in 2019, and it will surely be an explosive showdown.

China’s top welterweight Li Jingliang was originally scheduled to face Alex Oliveira at UFC Fort Lauderdale in Sunrise, Florida on April 27th. However, the Chinese prospect had to withdraw due to an injury, and UFC started looking for replacements.

Mike Perry is coming off a loss to Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone in November 2018, where he was stopped in the first round. Needing a big performance, Perry has now agreed to step in, and face the Brazilian in an exciting welterweight clash.

Alex Oliveira (20-6-1 MMA, 2 NC) himself is looking for a big win, to bounce back from his submission loss to Gunnar Nelson in December 2018. Perry (12-4 MMA) will undoubtedly be a tough opponent, but given his penchant for violence and his willingness to stand and trade, the fight between the two will surely go over well with the MMA fans.

UFC Fort Lauderdale will see two middleweight contenders collide in a huge rematch, with Yoel Romero facing Jacare Souza in a five-round affair. The winner will move one step closer to fighting for the UFC Middleweight Championship.
