Nate Diaz Thinks He Should Be Boxing, Says He’s Stuck In A Cage

We haven’t seen Nate Diaz inside the Octagon for a while now. The lightweight contender, who was always a ranked fighter, shocked the world when he tapped Conor McGregor couple of years ago. While McGregor then beat Diaz in a rematch, there has been talk about a trilogy fight, which might never come to fruition.

Conor McGregor is now focused on his business ventures outside the sport, and might only want to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov. Nate Diaz on the other hand has refused to accept low-key fights, claiming UFC has tried low-balling him.

Nate Diaz was also expected to fight the current interim UFC lightweight champion Dustin Poirier last November at UFC 230. However, that fight fell through for multiple reasons. Nate now claims that he would have been boxing Canelo Alvarez or Daniel Jacobs, but that he is ‘stuck’ in the sport of mixed martial arts.

Taking to Facebook, Diaz wrote, “I should be boxing these guys. I’m stuck in a cage though.”

Nate is currently not scheduled to face anyone. However, with the lightweight division now opening up, we could see Nate returning to the Octagon in 2019. Who do you want to see face Nate Diaz in the UFC?
