The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition Updates

ONE Championship has announced that Catcha Group co-Founder and Group CEO Patrick Grove will join The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition as one of twelve guest CEOs, when the hit reality television series airs later this year.

Grove will participate in the show alongside ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong, to help judge and mentor the sixteen contestants who are set to compete in a high-stakes game of business competitions and physical challenges.

Chatri predicts that the sixteen participants will learn a great deal from Grove.

Without a doubt, Patrick is one of the most accomplished self-made entrepreneurs in the Asia Pacific region. Grove is the co-Founder of Frontier Digital Ventures, iFlix, and Rev Asia. Grove’s business savvy has seen him become the only person in the world to take five companies from startup to Initial Public Offering (IPO) and has collectively created companies worth over US$1,000,000,000. 

Grove, who is also the co-Founder and Group CEO of Catcha Group, a portfolio, including iProperty, and iCar Asia, says can’t wait to work with Chatri.

ONE has also announced that it has hired Refinery Media as the company’s production partner in The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition, bringing the hit reality television series to life, when it airs at the end of the year.

Refinery Media has experience working in reality and non-scripted programming, including Amazing Race Asia, Asia’s Next Top Model, SupermodelMe, Cesar’s Recruit Asia, and many other shows.

Chatri said he’s been impressed with Refinery’s Media’s work over the years.

“I am impressed by Refinery Media’s creativity and experience in bringing the best non-scripted and reality programming to screens in Asia and around the world. The production quality by the Refinery Media team was second to none. We look forward to an incredible inaugural season of The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition.”

The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition will invite sixteen (16) contestants handpicked from around the world to compete in a high-stakes game of business and physical challenges. The winner will receive a US$250,000 job offer to work for a year directly under Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong as his protege in Singapore.

ONE Championship has now announced new strategic partnerships with Xiaomi, Intel, HP and Logitech. These revenue partnerships will leverage multiple ONE content stacks and platforms, including ONE Championship’s martial arts and esports businesses, as well as ONE Studios. Commitments span martial arts and esports platforms in 2020 and will also include The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition.

ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong put the new partnerships down to his team’s outstanding work.

UPDATE 14/5/20:

ONE Championship has now announced that Zilingo Co-Founder and CEO Ankiti Bose will be joining The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition as one of 12 guest CEOs, helping to judge and mentor the 16 contestants on the show.

Bose founded Zilingo five years ago when she was only 23 years old. Under her leadership, Zilingo has raised over $300,000,000 and created one of the largest B2B commerce businesses in Asia. Chatri said it is an honour to have Ankiti on board.

UPDATE 21/5/20:

ONE has just announced that their existing ONE Esport partnership with TUMI, will now include a special branded challenge during the first season of The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition.

Together with ONE Esports, TUMI will challenge the show’s contestants to design, market, and launch the ultimate luxury gaming bag in an episode of the first series.

TUMI Creative Director Victor Sanz, said that he excited to see what the contestants can come up with.

“We are excited to partner with ONE Championship on ‘The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition.’ We look forward to seeing the innovative designs and out-of-the-box marketing launch plans the contestants come up with to elevate the journeys of gamers around the world.”

Chatri has now named Anthony Tan, the CEO & co-founder of Grab, as a guest CEO judge.

In the last few minutes, Chatri has announced that Demetrious Johnson, Brandon Vera, Angela Lee, Ritu Phogat, Sage Northcutt, and Xiong Jingnan will join him as guest athletes on The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition.

UPDATE 30/8/20:

ONE Championship has named AXN as the official broadcast partner for The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition. The promotion also announced the initial six media platforms that will broadcast the show in Asia.

UPDATE 3/2/21

The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition will premiere across Asia on Thursday, March 18th on AXN, the show’s official Asian broadcast partner, with markets including Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Vietnam.

It will also be available on other platforms and TV networks across Asia in March, including MediaCorp (Singapore), Abema (Japan), KompasTV (Indonesia), Amarin TV (Thailand), LINE TV (Thailand), TV5 Network (Philippines), and HTV (Vietnam).

In China, ONE has entered into a broadcast agreement with ByteDance to stream The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition on their Douyin, Xigua, and Toutiao platforms beginning on Saturday March 20th.
