ONE Championship Postpone June Events

When the coronavirus pandemic first began to be a global issue, ONE Championship were one of the first sporting organisations to take responsible actions. Firstly, by making February’s ONE: King Of The Jungle a closed door event. ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong was then quick to postpone their upcoming events and instead planned for four events in Singapore in April and May, behind closed doors.

However, after the coronavirus pandemic worsened globally and most countries implemented lockdowns and travel restrictions, holding events proved impossible and irresponsible. ONE first announced that they were to postpone all of their April events, and then later confirmed that all of their events in May were to be postponed.

It now appears that ONE has postponed all of their June events. Although the promotion has not made an announcement yet, all of their events in June have been removed from their website. The removed events are, ONE: Battle for the Ages on Jun 5th in Jakarta, Indonesia, ONE Warrior Series on June 11th in Singapore, and ONE: Legendary Warriors on June 20th in Guangzhou, China.

While ONE Championship has been responsible and postponed several events, the promotion has remained active and signed some of the best strikers in the world during this time. Including Sittichai Sitsongpeenong, Guto Inocente and Andrei Stoica’s brother Bogdan Stoica.

Throughout the global crisis, Sityodtong has remained optimistic and has announced exciting plans for the upcoming The Apprentice: ONE Championship addition, as well as several new big partnerships.

It is unlikely that any sporting events will be able to have fans for some time but Sityodtong is confident that ONE Championship will return this summer. And when it does, we will be in for a treat, as the promotion is set to make up for lost time.
