Paul Felder Vs Edson Barboza To Co-Main Event UFC 242

Paul Felder and Edson Barboza will run it back this September!

UFC 242 is set to go down this September in Abu Dhabi, with Khabib Nurmagomedov defending the UFC Lightweight title against interim champion Dustin Poirier. In what is one of the most highly anticipated clashes of 2019, Khabib will finally return to the Octagon after nearly a year, with his last fight coming at UFC 229 against Conor McGregor late last year.

Dustin Poirier defeated Max Holloway to win the interim championship, setting up a fight between the two lightweights. While the main event itself will attract a ton of interest, during the UFC 239 broadcast, the promotion announced the co-main event for the pay-per-view. Felder also had been teasing an announcement, which ended up being the news for his next fight.

“It’s official! Edson Barboza and Paul Felder are running it back in Abu Dhabi! UFC 242 shaping UP!”

Barboza last lost to Justin Gaethje earlier this year in March, and is 1-3 in his last four fights, winning against Dan Hooker, but suffering losses at the hands of Kevin Lee and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Paul Felder and Edson Barboza fought each other in 2015, with Barboza walking away with the unanimous decision victory. This time around, both the fighters will co-main event one of the biggest pay-per-views of the calendar year, as UFC travels to the Middle East for UFC 242.
