Paulie Malinaggi Lays Into Conor McGregor And Artem Lobov

It’s safe to say that Paulie Malignaggi doesn’t like Conor McGregor. Ever since McGregor released some video clips and photos from their couple of sparring sessions, prior to McGregor’s fight with Floyd Mayweather, Malinaggi has attacked the Irish man at every opportunity.

McGregor on his part, hasn’t shown the same level of hatred towards the former boxing world champion. He’s said the odd thing but hasn’t invested the same levels of energy as he has other rivals, such as Khabib Nurmagomedov.

However, earlier this week, after Malinaggi slapped his friend and training partner Artem Lobov (which you can watch here), McGregor responded by posting several photos of him getting the upper hand while they sparred inside the boxing ring. Which you can see here.

It is exactly one year since McGregor flew out to New York to confront Khabib on the infamous bus, after Team Khabib confronted Lobov ahead of UFC 223.

Speaking to MMA Junkie Radio, Malignaggi responded to McGregor posting photos of their sparring, in retaliation for slapping Lobov.

“I more so laugh at Conor. I’m not really worried about Conor, because Conor is not going to do anything to me. He’s not going to challenge me. There’s fear in his eyes. He’s scared of losing, of being emasculated the way he’s been lately.

“I’m sure he’s very disgruntled that he has to look through twenty still pictures, and more than half of them, he’s not landing a clean shot on me, and that’s all he has. When he looks through that video, he has to live with the agony of knowing there’s more highlights of me on that video than there is of him and he has to sift through all my highlights to get to the couple of things he’s done in that sparring.

“To me, the f***ing slap I gave Lobov is nothing compared to what Conor took from Khabib. The guy made him tap, made him submit to him, and then he spit on him, and he did nothing about it. Yet from the safety of his telephone, he wants to tweet pictures and tweet things at Khabib.”

The day before he slapped Lobov, Malinaggi spoke to Luke Thomas on The MMA Hour about the ‘The Russian Hammer’. Where he proclaimed that he wouldn’t count a win over Lobov as a win, unless he inflicts permanent damage on him.

“With Lobov, how accurate is he gonna be with a real boxer? I’m gonna be accurate as shit, I’m gonna use him like a dartboard. I’m gonna use his face like a dartboard. It’s not about winning and losing here, because it’s not even a question that I’m gonna win the fight. It’s about how bad I can hurt this guy. For me, if I don’t hurt him to a degree that there’s something permanent there, it’s not a win for me.

“I’m gonna land, I’m gonna land hard, I’m gonna land often, and I’m gonna be balanced enough to continuously land on you because I don’t have to regain my balance when I throw a punch. I can literally pummel the shit out of you. And that’s what I’m gonna do to this guy. I’m going to beat the living shit out of him and that’s what’s gonna happen when we do get in there.

“But right now, let him focus on his fight because I don’t want to jinx anything. I don’t want to disrespect even his opponent for this week.

“Lobov, for me, is a punching bag with feet.”
