Sam Alvey Comes In On Short Notice Again At UFC 234

‘Smile’n’ Sam Alvey comes to the rescue again. On two weeks notice, Alvey will replace Ryan Spann against Jim Crute at UFC 234, in a light heavyweight contest. It is reported that Spann has broken his hand.

News.com.au first reported the story. Australia’s Crute took to Instagram to show his appreciation to Alvey, for stepping in on short notice.

Alvey is coming off a loss to Antônio Rogério Nogueira last September, which was his eighth fight in two years. Crute is unbeaten at 9-0 and won his UFC debut, last time out against Paul Craig, just last month.

UFC 234 goes down on February 10th, in Melbourne, Australia.
