Stamp Fairtex Is Excited To Return At ONE: No Surrender

Stamp Fairtex has already achieved a lot in ONE Championship at such a young age. She’s won the ONE atomweight kickboxing title and is the reigning ONE atomweight Muay Thai champion. She’s also 4-0 in her mixed martial arts career and hopes to earn a shot at the ONE atomweight title in the near future.

She will return to action at ONE: No Surrender on July 31st, where she will face her compatriot Sunisa Srisen, in a mixed martial arts bout. After a period of inactivity due to the coronavirus global pandemic, Stamp is glad to be returning to action. What’s more, she will be participating in one of the most stacked and exciting cards ONE has ever put together. Speaking to Asian Persuasion MMA, the former two-sport world champion expressed her excitement in competing again.

“I’m happy and excited that ONE Championship is back and hosting events once again. This event is special because it will be filled with a lot of famous athletes. It’s an honour for me to be on the same card as so many well-known Muay Thai fighters,” Stamp said.

Stamp’s most recent outing was a defence of her ONE atomweight kickboxing title against Janet Todd at ONE: King Of The Jungle, where she lost the belt via a narrow split decision. It was her first ever loss in ONE Championship.

“It did take a considerable amount of time for me to heal but it didn’t take too long. When you fall, you get back up. The only thing you can do is to keep getting better. All we can do is improve ourselves for what’s next.”

While a rematch with ‘JT’ is likely in the future, Stamp has been focused on improving her mixed martial arts skills. She will get the chance to continue her progress when she faces Sunisa at ONE: No Surrender, who she has trained with a little in the past.

“Since I can’t leave the country, I just want to develop my MMA skills right now,” Stamp said. “I know that Sunisa is a fighter with high-level judo skills. I’ve only instructed her a few times. The stand up and the ground game are her primary weaknesses.”

Unfortunately, due to ONE: No Surrender being a closed-door event, Stamp revealed that she won’t be performing her signature ‘Stamp Dance’ that has become a favourite among her fans around the world.

Will Stamp Fairtex be able to continue her winning streak in mixed martial arts competition at ONE: No Surrender?
