Sterling Calls Out Moraes, Moraes Calls Out Dillashaw

Although there’s not the level of uncertainty in the UFC bantamweight division as the flyweight division, there is still the uncertainty as to what is next for the champion, TJ Dillashaw. Will he challenge Henry Cejudo again at 125lbs? Will Cejudo move up to 135lbs to challenge for the bantamweight belt? Will Dillashaw defend his belt against the number one contender, Marlon Moraes?

We don’t know any of the answers and there doesn’t appear to be any sign of finding out anytime soon. One thing is for sure though, with the exception of the injured Dominick Cruz, everyone else at the top of the bantamweight rankings, is itching to fight and get a shot at the title.

Aljamain Sterling is one such fighter, calling out Marlon Moraes. And he has a double incentive. Not only would a win put him on the verge of a title shot, it would also revenge his loss to the Brazilian in December of 2017. Which came by way of a spectacular knockout.

Although he would love to run that fight back, the ‘Funk Master’ is realistic that Moraes will probably hold out for a shot at gold.

And just in the last hour, Moraes has taken his turn to take to Twitter to tweet a call out. Calling out the champion, Dillashaw.

Dillashaw has made it clear that he wants the Cejudo rematch next. But there’s no doubt that Moraes has earned a shot at the bantamweight title. But how long will he have to wait for his opportunity? And if it is until the end of the year, will he wait?

How do you want to see things play out in the UFC bantamweight division?
