This Is How The MMA World Reacted To UFC 256
UFC 256 went down on Saturday night at the APEX Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The promotion’s last pay-per-view of 2020 finished with a bang. The main event saw an incredible five round war; after a crazy 25 minutes, the flyweight title fight between Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno ended in a majority draw, resulting in the Brazilian successfully defending his belt.
Charles Oliveira put on a clinic in the co-main event, dominating Tony Ferguson for three rounds. ‘El Cucuy’ looked to break his arm at the end of the first round from a nasty armbar, but refused to tap. ‘Do Bronx’ will now find himself in the top five in the UFC lightweight rankings, and will undoubtedly be in the title mix in 2021.
Elsewhere on the UFC 256 main card, Mackenzie Dern edged Virna Jandiroba via unanimous decision in a razor close top 15 strawweight contest, Kevin Holland knocked out ‘Jacare’ Souza in spectacular fashion in the first round, and Ciryl Gane finished Junior dos Santos in the second round.
