This Is How The MMA World Reacted To UFC 261
UFC 261 went down on Saturday night at the sold out VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. The UFC’s first event in over a year with fans, excluding Fight Island, featured three title fights. In the main event, Kamaru Usman defended his welterweight title by knocking out Jorge Masvidal in the second round.
In the co-main event, Rose Namajunas recaptured the strawweight title by spectacularly knocking out Zhang Weili with a head kick and ground and pound inside the first 90 seconds. And in the third title fight of the night, Valentina Shevchenko successfully defended her flyweight title for the fifth time by TKO’ing Jessica Andrade in the second round.
Elsewhere on the UFC 261 main card, Chris Weidman suffered an horrendous broken leg after Uriah Hall blocked a kick in the first 30 seconds, and Jimmy Crute was unable to continue at the end of the first round after getting drop foot in his top 15 light heavyweight contest against Anthony Smith.
